- Wear Sunscreen Every day. Make sure to lather up on sunscreen every day and try to avoid being outside between 10:00am and 3:00pm, when the sun’s rays are strongest. Don’t forget about your lips, use a lip balm with sunscreen to protect your lips from getting burned.
- Exfoliate Weekly. Exfoliating is a great way to help in the skin renewal process by sloughing off dead skin, exposing the smooth, clear, healthy skin beneath. - Wash your face in the morning and at night. Avoid over washing your face, as that can cause irritation and dryness, acting as an indicator for your body to produce more oil.
- Don’t sleep with your makeup on. As tempting as it may be to slip into bed after a night on the town without washing your face, don’t do it.Sleeping with your makeup on is a surefire way to clog pores and wake up in the morning with a pimple.
- Drink water. Drinking enough water everyday is the number one easiest way to start improving your skin. Keeping your skin hydrated is essential for glowing radiant skin, so throw out the soda and start drinking more water.
- Keep your phones clean and avoid cradling the phone against your cheek and shoulder, as phones tend to harbor an array of bacteria that can cause breakouts along the jaw line.
- Avoid touching your face. As tempting as it may be to pick at your face, picking only leads to the spread of infection. Keep your hands clean and avoid touching and picking when possible.
- The Kids Health Organization recommends keeping your hair clean and pulled back out of your face in order to prevent additional dirt and oil from clogging your pores.
- Stick with using mild soaps that don’t contain perfumes or dyes that might irritate your skin. Mild soaps will still do the trick of cleansing your skin, without stripping it of its essential oils.
- Moisturize Regularly. Using the right moisturizer for your skin can ensure that your skin is maintaining its natural moisture levels which will help keep your skin looking radiant and youthful. If you have very oily skin, try using a very light moisturizer a few times a week instead of more frequent application.
